How the $45 emergency exam and X-rays work
Every emergency visit begins the same way. You pay $45. For that, one of our dentists examines the tooth and the area around it, and we take the X-rays needed to see under the surface: the root, the bone, any infection, any hidden crack.
The $45 is the same on a Saturday as on a Tuesday, and the same for a walk-in as for a scheduled visit. It's the price of finding out what's wrong.
From diagnosis to an exact written price
Once the X-rays are up, our dentists explain what they found and what they recommend. If there's more than one reasonable option, say, a root canal to save a tooth versus removing it, you hear both. Then, before anyone picks up an instrument, you get your treatment price in writing. It's the price for the treatment your tooth needs.
You can take that sheet home and think it over. Treatment can often start at the same visit if you're ready and the schedule allows. Or it can wait until you've checked with your insurer. Nothing is done until you've seen the price and said yes.
We don't publish treatment prices on this site because emergency dentistry doesn't come in one size. Two people can walk in with the same toothache and leave needing entirely different things: one a filling, the other an emergency root canal or an extraction. The $45 exam is how we get to a real answer.
Insurance we accept in Phoenix
We accept cash and most major PPO plans, including Cigna, Aetna, Delta Dental, Guardian, and Principal. If your PPO isn't on that list, call and ask. Bring your insurance card or member ID when you come in. The written price is for the treatment itself; your plan is billed according to its terms, and what it pays is set by the plan.
Medicaid (AHCCCS) and HMO dental plans are not accepted at our office. If you're covered by one of those plans, your plan's provider directory lists the offices that can see you under it.

We work with three payment plan providers: CareCredit, Cherry, and HFD. Each spreads the cost of treatment over monthly payments instead of one payment on the day of your visit. You can apply before you arrive or while you're here. Approval and terms are set by the plan provider, not by our office, so ask when you call and we'll point you to the right application.
A dentist payment plan is not a discount. The written price stays the same; the plan changes when you pay it, not how much.
What changes the price of an emergency dental visit
It helps to know what goes into the written price. The main factors are which tooth is involved, what it needs (a filling, a crown, a root canal, a simple extraction, or a surgical one), and whether an infection has to be treated first.
